NEW CLUBHOUSE DEVELOPMENT

16th June 2008
Dear Member/Friend of CCWCC,
I have pleasure in writing to you with further details of our proposed redevelopment of the pavilion at our High Road ground.
We have progressed considerably over the past 12 months. To date almost £50,000 has been donated by the Club Membership and as a result this has given the Executive Board the confidence to press forward with plans which can be submitted to Reigate and Banstead County Council for approval/consultation. Our thanks to Bruce Blackhall and his colleague Norman Beg for sparing their valuable time in working with us to produce these drawings.
Prior to finalising our plans we are keen to obtain constructive feedback from Members, Vice Presidents, immediate neighbours, residents of the village and possible funding sources. So please feel free to email myself or Steve Smith on ianchilds@ryman.co.uk or smith-steve@hotmail.co.uk alternatively call me personally on 07860 335 000.
Following this period of consultation the key tasks ahead are:
1. We still require further funding from our own resources, so if you are able to contribute (or for some, contribute further) then please complete the enclosed gift aid donation form and return it as soon as possible. The Executive Board have now targeted £100,000 to be raised. This represents a substantial increase in our original target, however we feel that it is important to build a facility that we can all be proud of and will remain suitable for the Cricket Club use for at least two or three generations.
2. Apply for planning. We are grateful to Brian Betts and Martin Thomas who will lead this aspect of the project.
3. Obtain at least three quotes from potential suppliers/builders.
4. Apply for funding from third parties. This is in itself a huge and complicated task and Steve will be investigating every avenue available to us, however, if anyone had any funding ideas which we may not be aware of than please let us know.
When we reach the end of the season we hope to have a clearer picture of our status on all fronts. The Executive Board will then make further recommendations as to the immediate and future plans and possible timing options.
On the playing front the Club continues to progress. Our Seniors XI’s are generally performing well, our New Academy is thriving and our Colts numbers on a Friday night are increasing. We are progressing with our Schools Coaching Programme and with our Ladies section, soplease support us when and where you can.
The “Future is bright” lets continue in this way and not only become a progressive Cricket Club but a hub of activity within the local community.
Thanks for your support to date.
Kind regards
Yours Sincerely
Ian Childs
Chairman
